Maria Tchan (she/her)
Director of Impact
Maria Tchan is an evaluator, facilitator, clinician, and community engagement expert with over 20 years' experience across government, academic research, and the not-for-profit health and social sector.
She has always been a listener and a gatherer. That instinct shapes everything she does, from designing people-centred impact frameworks to facilitating co-design workshops to developing and evaluating programs alongside her clients. For Maria, coming together is where great ideas begin. The people who use services must always have a seat at the table.
Maria brings expertise in service design and implementation, impact measurement and evaluation, facilitation, co-design, and community engagement. She holds a Master of Public Health and is a member of the Australian Evaluation Society, the Social Impact Measurement Network Australia, and the International Association of Facilitators.
Her work spans metropolitan, regional, and remote Australia, with a particular focus on mental health and suicide prevention, LGBTIQ+ programs, First Nations health, and place-based approaches. She has led over 50 practical training and evaluation coaching sessions with community service organisations and is known for a robust yet pragmatic approach that works in the real world.
